Get some exercise and help out a charity at the same time.

Get Jacked for RHWR will be held on Sunday, April 15 by a group of Conestoga bachelor of public relations students at the Grand Valley Country Club in Cambridge. It is a two-hour workout class affiliated with local business Proactive Training and Nutrition. Proactive is donating time and equipment to run a one-hour boot camp class and a one-hour Zumba class to help the students raise funds for Reception House in the Waterloo Region.

The event will feature a raffle with donations from a variety of sponsors including Sky Zone passes, a spa day, a variety of gift cards, a date night at Borealis Bar and Grill for two, two one-hour passes to Golfplay in Kitchener, an LCBO gift basket and kitchen knives. Attendees will be able to buy tickets that they can then drop into a box in an attempt to win the gift of their choice. All proceeds from the raffle will also be donated to the charity.

Reception House is a home for government-assisted refugees arriving in Canada that helps prepare them for a successful and happy life in their new community. This includes providing programs and services to help with the settlement and integration process. In addition, they create awareness within the community regarding the issues faced by refugees.
Proactive Training and Nutrition is a gym in Cambridge owned by Emerson Petri, a young, ambitious entrepreneur who offers pay-as-you-go training and memberships. His friend Cassandra Lorraine helps out and instructs a fun and active Zumba class. The two are volunteering their time to run the two classes at the event, which give participants the chance to give back while getting their sweat on.

The two Get Jacked for R.H.W.R. classes are for all levels and snacks and beverages will be provided.
Tickets are $25. For more information, including who to contact for tickets, follow the Get Jacked for R.H.W.R. Facebook page.
Those who have already purchased a ticket, and the next 20 people who buy one, will be eligible for a door prize. Tickets can be purchased with cash at Proactive Training located at 112 Melville St. S. in Cambridge or through an e-transfer to sfullerton177@gmail.com.
