With the beginning of November, Spoke News took another step and started to visit other Conestoga College campuses. Get prepared to join us and explore the different locations of Conestoga in search for ICONdors. Winter is coming and so is Spoke.
Here are some of the fashion highlights of this week’s Fashion ICONdors:
“I kind of look at what other people are wearing and I go from there,” said Taylor. “It’s a little more sporty than anything else.”
Wearing simple but classic boots paired with distressed skinny jeans, Taylor looked more casual than sporty this time. His red plaid shirt brought colour and a pop-punk vibe to his outfit. Taylor’s backwards snapback made him look as cool as possible.
“I like bright colours but I like dark colours as well,” commented Kopec. “Mixing them and stuff.”
Kopec looked fresh and floral with her kimono in this dreary November weather. Her socks were showing above her boots, which added depth and a fashionable touch to her outfit. Her cropped top and high-waisted jeans were the foundation needed for her look.
“I kind of just look at what’s in my closet,” stated Green. “Sometimes I get hand-me-downs from my cousins. I’ll just grab it from whatever my mom did last in the laundry. I like older clothes, I guess. I don’t like brand new clothes because I have to wear them in and everything. I like the comfort of older clothes and the durability of them.”
With a dark green turtleneck, Green looked sophisticated and cozy. His all black Converse All-Star shoes gave him a modern and cool look while keeping him comfortable. His hat matched his jacket, wrapping up the whole outfit.
“I’m broke, so cheap clothing. Value Village,” said Salama-Frakes. “That’s basically what I wear.”
Pairing ribbed black jeans with a bomber jacket, Salama-Frakes’ look was exceptional. He rocked a Home Depot T-shirt that, according to him, was randomly purchased and not part of a uniform, adding humour to his look.
About his style, Ruxton commented: “I just really like floral and I’ve been wearing Vans every day for, like, seven years.”
With a happy smile, Ruxton brought fun to a basic outfit with a floral patterned pouch on his sweater. His Authentic Vans were a classic and practical choice while his watch was a minimalist accessory to dress up a look.
“When I’m not in the shop, I like to try and clean up and look nice,” Bacvar commented. When you’re in the shop, you’re dirty and you have to wear certain clothes.”
With ripped jeans and Nike shoes, Bacvar looked casual and comfortable. His plaid shirt was lined inside, keeping him warm and stylish. A flat grey shirt kept the focus on the main points of this look.
“I work at a clothing store, Zumiez. I buy clothes from there,” said Ince.
Layering a leather jacket and a green hoodie, Ince had an alternative look. His skinny jeans were complemented by his black boots, while his belt matched his hoodie. His ear stretchers, septum and eyebrow rings were the final touch needed to complete his outfit.
