Eat, drink and rock out at the fourth Annual Preston Music Festival.
After a year of planning the fourth Annual Preston Music Festival got into full swing on Sept. 17. There was a good crowd on hand in Central Park in the Preston Towne Centre. Gillian Storch, one of organizers of the festival says the event is focused on the community with donations being collected for the food bank from the people in attendance and businesses. People from all over are welcome to come and enjoy the music and food. The event is geared for the whole family to come and have fun. For the past four years the same team of volunteers has helped set up the festival said Matt Storch, another organizer. The bands themselves also volunteered. Some of the bands performing this year included The Dearhounds, Black Market News and Delta Grand Speed.
The crowd consisted of people of all ages that came out to hear some music, dance and to have a good time. A merchandise stand was set up selling, CDs of the bands and t-shirts, there was a grill selling hot dogs and hamburgers, and a beer tent was up for the adults in the crowd. There was also a classic car show during the afternoon for all to enjoy.
āIām here for the fun and the atmosphere. I came to see the bands and the people and I hope the night goes well,ā local resident Tammy Day, a first time attendee of the event said.
People were eating, others were talking amongst themselves while others were really getting into the music and dancing in the warm afternoon sun.
Gillian and Matt Storch, event organizers said the whole event would not be possible without the support of the local businesses, the City of Cambridge, Preston Towne Centre and of course all the volunteers.
