With the holiday season right around the corner, money may become tight for some college students. However, the Conestoga bookstore is here to help with students’ financial woes.

Beginning today and continuing until Friday, the bookstore is offering a BOGO sale – buy one item, get the second 40% off.

Students can take advantage of discounts on all clothing, merchandise, supplies and giftware.

“We normally don’t have a sale for 40 per cent off,” said bookstore manager Adam Hustwitt.

“Anything they may have desired or not had the budget for or thought they couldn’t afford” is a great reason for people to visit the bookstore, Hustwitt said, suggesting students could also shop with a friend and split the discount.

Coming off a rocky start to the year where students faced hour-long lines and backed-up orders due to the support staff strike, the bookstore is almost back to normal operations now.

“There’s a couple of program-specific things that take some time to catch up,” Hustwitt said of some supplies that require “special ordering.”

Students at the Doon campus will also be able to attend another sale the week of the BOGO event. “We are also doing a sidewalk sale on top of the regular sale in the Atrium,” said Hustwitt, adding this is where students can find even bigger discounts on many things. He also wants all Conestoga students to know that the sidewalk sale will be heading to each campus this week.

Although this is the only large sale planned for the bookstore this school year, Hustwitt isn’t ruling out the idea of making it a biannual event.

“We’ll see how it goes and re-evaluate after that,” he said.
