The 50th Annual KW Oktoberfest Parade was held this past Thanksgiving Monday in downtown Kitchener.
The largest Bavarian Oktoberfest parade outside of its native Germany was a great success. As usual, hundreds gathered alongside the parade route to cheer on the many floats and community performers taking part in the fun event.
The parade ran from Frederick Street near the core of downtown, before it turned right at Weber and ran to its end at Bridgeport Road in Waterloo.
The event featured a number of floats sponsored by local organizations and businesses to create a great atmosphere for all in attendance at the early morning event on the holiday Monday.
Although there were some minor hiccups along the way in terms of the weather, the many attendees showed little to no signs of displeasure as they cheered along the parade from start to finish.
The Kitchener Oktoberfest Parade runs annually on Thanksgiving Monday to kick off the Oktoberfest season in the region.
