Waterloo Regional Police have a suspect in custody after a fatal shooting on Monday night in Cambridge.

Just after 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call of a shooting at a plaza located at Christopher Drive and Champlain Boulevard. A 24-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds in what police believed was a targeted incident.

The victim, identified as Bradley Pogue, of Cambridge, was treated for serious injuries at the scene and transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspect was identified as Adam Adonis De-Gannes, 24, from Cambridge. Police believe the two men knew each other.

Police had initially cordoned off a large area of the plaza, but as of Tuesday morning the majority of the shops had reopened.
