A free film screening and panel discussion on human sex trafficking, organized by local agencies and law enforcement, took place at Kitchener Public Library on Monday evening.

The documentary Very Young Girls gave a candid perspective of sexual exploitation and human sex trafficking in New York City. Centring on former-prostitute-turned-activist Rachel Lloyd and her support centre, Girls Educational and Mentoring Services, the film delves into the sad and shocking process of luring girls for the purpose of trafficking.

The panel discussion that followed offered insights into how human sex trafficking impacts Waterloo Region.
