Let’s straighten something out.
Amber Alerts aren’t a new thing. We’ve received them before. Sometimes we receive test alerts for the system. If potentially saving a child’s life is an inconvenience to you, there is the option of muting your phone or putting it on “do not disturb.” Taking to 911 or social media to complain about a child’s life is wrong. Yes, the Amber Alert may have momentarily disrupted your life, but for others, it could mean their lives changing forever.
Think about it this way: If your child went missing and their life was in danger, wouldn’t you want as much help as possible?
