Easter weekend will soon be upon us and whether it’s a religious holiday or simply an extra-long weekend for family, there is lots to do in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. From Easter egg hunts to train rides, the region has something for everyone.

Here are a few activities available over Easter weekend in the region.

Easter Train – Saturday, April 20, 2019
St. Jacobs Farmers Market
Enjoy a leisurely train ride. Hop on and off of stops between Elmira and Waterloo on the trains to experience the towns. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance aboard the train.

Easter Weekend at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory – April 19-22, 2019
Enjoy fun-filled Easter-themed activities for kids! There are many activities like colouring an Easter headband, a scavenger hunt in the conservatory and Easter-themed Storytime & Meet a Bug.

Hot Cross Bun Making Demonstration and Easter Crafts – April 19, 2019
Plan to stop by McDougall Cottage on Good Friday when they’ll be baking up some hot-cross buns to share with friends, old and new. Nibble a sample with a warm cup of tea and don’t forget to take a free recipe home, so you can make some to share with friends. Children can also make an Easter craft to give to a friend or family member.

Hespeler Village Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, April 20, 2019
Kids are welcome to visit booths located at the Hespeler Village Square (behind the library and fire hall), where they will pick up their maps and loot bags to take with them as they journey through each participating business downtown to collect their Easter goodies. Once their Easter Egg Hunt is complete and their map has been stamped, the kiddies will venture on back to the main square to enter the draw for the grand prize and enjoy some more fun activities.

Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs – Friday, April 19, 2019
Each year, thousands of plastic eggs are filled with dog treats and hidden over a defined area of a local park. Each egg contains a dog treat and a sticker, representing a chance to win one of the hundreds of great prizes.
Registrants receive two egg cartons, giving them the opportunity to collect up to 24 eggs.

Easter Sunday Brunch at the Bruce Craft House – Sunday, April 21, 2019
Spend time with loved ones, eating, drinking and celebrating at a lavish Easter brunch buffet — a foodie extravaganza.
