Rain or shine, the powwow goes on.  The Indigenous Student Centre in Waterloo hosted its annual powwow under threatening skies and misty rain.

The weather didn’t stop the many dancers and spectators from attending the cultural event, including Waterloo Mayor Dave Jaworsky, who danced in Grand Entry opening ceremonies.

Recent funding from the city and commitment to working together with the local Indigenous community has given the event a more secure footing in the region, guaranteeing the yearly powwow will continue to engage, inform and work towards reconciliation in the City of Waterloo.
