Uptown Waterloo became a twilit kaleidoscope Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 as crowds gathered for the second annual Lumen light festival.
Lumen celebrates Waterloo’s artistic and technological culture, said organizer Sonya Poweska, a culture program specialist at the City of Waterloo.
The event, held between 6 p.m. and 11 Saturday night, sprawled across four zones in uptown Waterloo within easy walking distance of each other.
Waterloo Public Square hosted an alternative music lineup. The Visitor and Heritage Information Centre was transformed into a surreal dreamscape titled 2 AM Night Thoughts, by Amanda Garbe. And a massive metal dragon alit in the Waterloo Public Library parking lot, breathing fire.
