On top of a frozen, iron tower in Exeter, Ont., rests one of the newest weather radars in Canada.

The $4-million upgrade to the site was completed last August, and is part of an initiative by the federal government to modernize all of Canada’s weather radars.

Earlier this week, media were invited to tour the site and learn about how it could make Ontarians safer through the early detection of dangerous storms.
