Are you looking for a game with assassins, Vikings, exploration, and sailing? If so, then Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the right game for you.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest installment in the series, which takes players into 9th century Europe as the protagonist Eivor, a fearsome Viking searching for a home in England for their people after fleeing Norway. Additionally, Eivor can either be a male or female character, depending on the player’s choice.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently available to purchase on current generation systems such as Xbox One PlayStation 4 and PC via Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Games Store. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is also available for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 so players can experience the game with upgrades such as 4K Resolution, 60 Frames per second, and faster loading times.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla continues to be structured as an open-world role-playing game like its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. However, it sees the return of many iconic features of the Assassin’s Creed franchise that were omitted in its predecessor. The most notable change sees the Hidden Blade’s return, the staple weapon of the Assassin Brotherhood, which allows Eivor to assassinate his targets in stealth situations.

The game’s storyline is set in 873 AD during the Viking age as Eivor and the Raven Clan journey to Anglo-Saxon England to settle new lands after leaving Norway due to the wars and political struggles that plague it. Despite being in a distant land that despises their kind, Eivor must forge alliances with Saxons and Norsemen alike to ensure that the Raven Clan prospers. Additionally, Eivor finds themselves drawn into a long and bitter struggle between the secretive Hidden Ones and the Tyrannical Order of The Ancients. In this struggle, Eivor is tasked with eliminating as many Order of The Ancient members as possible to put an end to their cruelty.

While also exploring England and Norway during the Viking Age, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has an additional storyline that is focused on Norse Mythology, exploring some of the nine realms of Yggdrasil, meeting the various gods of Asgard and beyond, and trying to find a way to prepare for the cataclysmic event known as Ragnarök.

Alongside the content that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla provides, players can also engage in side activities such as flyting, drinking competitions, and even petting dogs?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla provides players with a large amount of content in terms of exploration. Players can visit the various regions that the game offers and do activities such as searching for chests containing silver, crafting materials, or powerful gear. Additionally, players can travel with their crews and raid monasteries or settlements and plunder their resources which can be used to improve Ravensthorpe, the player settlement.

Gameplay-wise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gives players a lot of variety in combat, whether they wish to charge headfirst into the action like a true Viking or silently take down enemies like an assassin, the game offers a lot of player choice compared to previous entries. In combat, players can wield various weapons such as axes, great swords, spears, bows, hammers, and more. In summary, there’s a weapon for everyone in this game.

However, one area in which the game falls flat is the performance of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game occasionally suffers from technical issues, stuttering, and freezing. However, these issues should be less common if players are playing the game on a next-generation console or a high-end PC.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla allows players to explore locations such as the cold fjords of Norway to the lush and green lands of England.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a worthy installment for the revered Assassin’s Creed franchise. It manages to take players into the Viking age and also serves as an enjoyable open-world role-playing game. This is why Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the next game you should buy.
