Oktoberfest is synonymous with the Waterloo region, and some people come from other countries just to come to the event. It goes on every year, and they have amassed the second-biggest Oktoberfest celebration in the world.
I believe that for citizen of the Waterloo Region to fully be engrossed in the culture, everyone must go to Oktoberfest once. More specifically the event is held at Concordia club in Kitchener. It is the place to be if you want to be a part of Oktoberfest and check out what it is all about.
The sights and sounds are something that feels like it came right over from Germany. Right when you walk in you can hear the German bands playing and see the tables spread across for people to sit. Everyone in the region looks at Oktoberfest and immediately has a memory from one of the years that they have gone. They have something for everyone, if you are competitive, they have carnival-like games where you can win prizes. They serve alcohol and other drinks and have traditional German food like schnitzel and bratwurst. They even have stands where you can buy traditional clothing like hats and lederhosen. You will not need to look hard to see people wearing them.
There is so much culture in the Concordia event, if you think of Oktoberfest in Waterloo, Concordia immediately comes to mind. It makes a strong case for that. Oktoberfest at Concordia brings out the roots of which the event is about, German Culture. That is why it is a must-go if you are living in the waterloo region. It embodies the spirit of the event but still has the fun that you expect from an event like this.
