Grand River Transit finally revealed the design for their electric buses as they prepare to put them into service. This is the latest step in the region’s plans to cut their carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050.
The Grand River Transit (GRT) buses in the KWC region are receiving huge crowds of commuters, particularly for buses in school zones and those connecting to school routes. Grand River Transit did not immediately reply to requests seeking comment.
Waterloo region’s transit manager says a portion of the $300 pass will be reimbursed, after a transit strike disrupted bus service at the beginning of the semester.
The union and the Region came to an agreement Thursday. That proposal needs to be ratified by regional council on Friday and bus service is expected to resume Saturday.

College president John Tibbits believes Conestoga students should pay the same as university students for GRT universal transit passes. In 2016, however, the student association offered to pay more, records show.
