You can save a life by giving a pint of blood at the Canadian Blood Services’ Waterloo or Guelph blood donor centres anytime in June, and at the same time get a chance to win a pair of Blue Jays tickets for a game on Saturday, July 27 against the Tampa Bay Rays.

As an initiative to bring in donors during the summer months, those who attend either blood donor centres up until June 29 have the opportunity to be entered in a draw for the tickets. New donors who give blood will have the opportunity to submit two ballots. The draw will take place the first week of July.

When asked about what Canadian Blood Services does and why run the raffle, Kersten Dupuis, event co-ordinator, said, “Canadian Blood Services is responsible for Canada’s national blood supply, and the summer months are often a time that we see our national inventory decrease. Because people often take holidays and spend time with their family in the summer, it can be difficult for them to find the time to donate blood. While the summer is a busy time for people, patients across Canada are still in need of blood, so we are hoping the opportunity to spend time with your family or friends at a Blue Jays game will give people the opportunity to help save lives as well as enjoy the summer!”
