If your walls are looking drab or you are tired of your current artwork, make sure you attend the Art Attic Silent Auction.

This event is an opportunity to bid on and purchase art donated by local artists and the community.

The Cambridge Arts Guild is holding the auction at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts, 60 Dickson St. in Cambridge, on June 13, 14 and 15. Event hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 13, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 14, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 15.

If you are doing some spring cleaning or decorating and have some art you would like to donate, the Art Attic accepts pieces year-round.  Your art can be fully donated or, if you own pieces that have significant value, you may request a tax receipt for the appraised value.  If you are interested in donating, bring your art to the Cambridge Centre for the Arts during business hours.  Funds raised go toward the Cambridge Arts Guild to help support art initiatives in the community.

When asked about what the Cambridge Arts Guild is, Cristina Hovey, a facility clerk at Cambridge Centre for the Arts said, “The Cambridge Arts Guild is a group of dedicated volunteers who contribute to the development of artistic experiences for the Cambridge community.  They act as an advisory board, an advocacy group and a fundraising body for the Cambridge Centre for the Arts.  The Arts Guild sponsors several art programs and events such as Cookies and Kids Family Theatre, the Artist in Residence, the Cambridge Studio Tour, Christmas in Cambridge, the Juried Art Show and the Cambridge Street Art Festival.  These initiatives are made possible through annual fundraising efforts including the silent auction and sale.”
